title : Raya Is Hovering Upon Us...
Hallo! Dear people!

how are you doing, loves? i'm sure that everyone is doing quite well in anything that they are doing, whether you are studying to become a doctor or an engineer or an accountant or even a ship captain. for those who think that they are a bit struggling, it is alright, because i am in the same boat with you. if you can get through all this, then so can i. so let's work smartly together, shall we?

anyway, it has been such a LONG time since we posted anything here, that i suppose everybody thinks that this blog had perished under the whirlwind of time, lost in an unlimited infinity of a cyber world. well guess what, she still lives! the board of directors wished it to never be put down, so that everyone can keep reading(don't know if anyone wants to..) and even post their own thoughts right here. "The Students That Never Sleeps", well there is a reason why Batt created that name for this blog. :)

now, let's talk about something interesting. let's talk about friendship. what do YOU think about friendship? what defines friendship? with all our old friends gone to other places, how do you cope with being alone? obviously, our instinct would be to find more friends. we make new friends as we necessarily socialize with other people. making friends is simple for some, because they have all the skills. but what about those who are shy and awkward? are new friends the same with old ones? do you think that new faces create the same atmosphere with old buddies? can you act stupid with new classmates like you do with old peers? for me, i think everything about new friends are never the same with old ones. even when their names are the same, their posture the same, their faces are the same, each of them have a different heart and a different soul. it is true, that "If a man does not make new acquaintances as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man should keep his friendship in constant repair", as said by Samuel Johnson. making friends along the course of your life is important to gain new experiences, gain new knowledge, make connections for your career and explore new fields. but it is also important to keep old flames alive, even when they are just little embers.

friends are those kinds of people who accepts you in their circle, likes having you around, and has a good time with you. but true friends are those who tells you when your face is dirty, who is not afraid to look stupid with you, and they are always there for you. you know that you have got a real friend when you are not afraid to spill your deepest sorrows and wails from the bottom of your heart, from the inner core of your given soul. this is because true friends meshes together with you and understands you even in silence. well, that is how i think of it anyway.

what about you? do you have true and loyal friends? what qualities do you think that would make a real friend?

"Love is like the wild-rose briar,
Friendship is like the holly-tree.
The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms,
But which will bloom most constantly?"
~Emily Brontë

just something to think about.

i believe everyone is very excited with the new event creeping on to us ever closer day by day. with Hari Raya Aidil Fitri coming up in less than a week, i think that everyone could not wait to get out of their dorms and get back home to help mak and ayah decorating the house, stir the cauldron of hot curry and slice bawang and grill sate and fill the sticky rice in the ketupat and cut the bread and wash the car and other stuff... well, maybe some just wants to go home and take a short but requisite break from studying. i was really looking forward to go beraya with everyone this year, like we all did last year, but fate is cruel, everyone seems like they would not be in Bintulu for Raya. it is unavoidable, but i guess i'll spend my Raya alone. :P

anyways, SELAMAT HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN. we have heard of this phrase all the time, but consider the fact that some people actually mean it. the board of directors and i pray that everyone will arrive home safely with no complications, and no missing limbs, i hope.

spend the rest of the year like you've never been alive.

till we have time to meet again, Adieu~!

ps: the sky and clouds in Bintulu really misses all of you.
