Hello y'all! It is now almost MARCH. Yes. I know all of us are now anxious about our results. Let's pray for the best for all of us.
title : Ceramah Motivasi by Mr. Chee Suk Haw
"Biarpun ribut melanda, biar bumi terbelah dua!"
People were applauding in admiration to his remarks. "Biarpun gempa bumi, saya tetap akan berpegang pada nombor ini hingga titisan darah terakhir!!" And the crowd goes wild. :D Hello, fellow readers, we meet once again. With the Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day coming before hand on the same day; which is the 14th of February, people are excited for the holidays ready to come. It goes the same with the dear students of SMK Kidurong. People are already planning ahead of themselves about what they should do, what they're going to do and what they're going to buy during their holiday trip to some anonymous place. Some people even have gone early, and their seats were left vacant in the classrooms. This extraordinary excitement which lingers in the air has created an atmosphere of dreams and laziness. Students are beginning to forget their purpose in life as a learner, and this include the 5S1 peers. The respectable class monitor, Jeremiah Bayang Buda had taken leave early because he is infested with a terrible fever caused by the upcoming holidays. Bong Jau Shyong was already on the road to his hometown to celebrate the Chinese New Year. With the approaching exams approximately around 1st March 2010, this feeling of carefree and holiday-ness certainly create worry in teachers, mainly for Form 5 students. Therefore, they invited a special guest to reduce the holiday moods of SMK Kidurong into awareness. It was gracefully announced the day before, that a well-known figure from SMK Bintulu will be visiting us for a 'ceramah motivasi' esspecially organised for SPM candidates. Form 5 students will have to carry their bags and themselves to the Dewan Teratai after recess and wait for him there. The 17-year-olds did as they were told, and the teachers with the help of dear Grace Paul, managed to arrange the students according to their classes and gender. Students were beginning to settle down, and they waited nervously for the speaker to arrive. They thought he was already in the building, and on his way. But a dreadful announcement sowed seeds of fear and nausea in the psychological minds of the students. He was said to be still on his way there and that the students were suppose to wait for him. The people roared. "Why are we suppose to wait?" said a student. "Why is he late?" asked another. "Nama jak penceramah motivasi..." muttered Ahmad Raimie, commonly known as Remy. It was clear he was bored and got something else that was better to do, but he still sat there waiting, in verge of his nerves. At last, the speaker arrived with his laptop and assistant. He skillfully prepared his slide in a matter of minutes, earning the title of an organised man. The assistant gave out forms and pamphlets for us students to read and fill in. Everything was set, and they were ready to go. The teacher announced who he was and gave an intro, and she later passed the microphone to the main character of the event; Mr. Chee Suk Haw. "Ok...Selamat petang and salam sejahtera suma..." The audience replied in perfect sync. "Saya akan memberikan satu ceramah motivasi kepada kamu suma pada hari ini". The event started with two shortened films based on true story. It was about Genghis Khan, who was the greatest ruler of the world; how he was an orphan, how he had his wife taken from him brutally, how he was captured and sold as a slave, starving for food. In the end, he had an empire 4 times bigger than Alexander the Great. Another figure displayed was Chris Gardner, who was a rags-to-riches millionaire, who was first a homeless man, how he had no money to pay his fine and sent to jail. When he was out and arrived home, only to find it empty, no even his clothes were left there. His wife ran away from him, and he was left with his son. At the end of the story, he became a stock broker and became one of the most generous human in the present society of the world. Some adolescents were touched by the story of hardships and shame, and everyone never hoped they would experience such a sorrowful past. Even I would think that i might not have such resistance and courage to strive with life at such a low level. Would you? The Ceramah Motivasi was rather fun and opened minds. Mr. Chee gave helpful tips on how to study properly, how to dream and achieve it, how to focus on your dream, how to remember your goals, and how to avoid being a failed person all our lives. "Kalau tak dapat apa yang kamu mahu capai pun, kamu takkan mati, kamu takkan demam! Takkanlah kamu dapat result yang kurang baik pun, kamu pun terus seliuh kaki, terus demam! Nanti cikgu kamu pun cakap, 'Aie, heran juak tok, camne tok?' " He emphasized that we should never look into the past, and leave it as it is, for it cannot be changed. What can be changed is the future, and we must always take our pros and cons to create a better self. "Jangan pandang belakang, takut kamu ternampak sesuatu yang tak sepatutnya." When the event was almost over, he gave out his personal phone number to show how he was determined to help anyone who wanted help to study and reach for their goals. for those interested, it's : 019-8897286 :) "Biarpun ribut melanda, biar bumi terbelah dua!" People were applauding in admiration to his remarks. "Biarpun gempa bumi, saya tetap akan berpegang pada nombor ini hingga titisan darah terakhir!!" And the crowd goes wild. :D He gave us a final reminder, and said goodbye and happy holidays. As a matter in fact, dear readers, he is right. Though a handful of people made fun of him, what he said was absolutely right in every way. They just refused to acknowledge it. It was up to us to accept it and apply it in our daily lives. SPM is not going to be farther from us, but closer. I hope that people would mind their manners when people are speaking up front, and that we must always be polite and open-minded to other people. Last but not least, Happy Chinese New Year, folks. :) maverick. |
