Monday. 4th January 2010. everyone started going to school again. it was a big day especially for SPM candidates this year. it was a symbol to signify the almost-end of sweet adolescent years, aging, and the early start to prepare ourselves with adulthood. it was considered as senior year for some, and surprise definitely filled the New Year of SMK Kidurong.

Let's rewind back during our first memory of school hood, shall we?

that time, we were just skin and bones, 5 years old or even 4, being a nervous wreck inside the gates of a new place we've never bothered to know about. what is this weird place? the excitement builded up in us, wanting to know what this interesting thing made out of big concrete was for? this big, gigantic place, this place called, 'kindergarten', was scary to our pure eyes, not knowing that this will be the start to the path of glory and wealth. children were succumbed with fear and despair, crying when their parents were going away. when they were left alone, anything would be edible and everyone were their friends. and when parents come to pick them up at the end of the day, they cry out and hug their beloved mummys and daddys, expressing misses and words of love. at the end, it wasn't so bad, wasn't it? don't say you've never felt scared on your first ever day of kindergarten, liar. we all have gone through it, no matter how big or small you are :)

back to reality, we former 4S1 students had become seniors this 2010 year. all those stupid faces of snot and tears and those feelings of alone and anguish were left buried in the past to laugh about. 5S1, we're SENIORS! :D

stepping into the sacred grounds of SMK Kidurong as students, people were gathering around and greeted each other casually; making jokes and telling stories of their vacation or just about how they played Naruto in PS2. this leaves no exception to the regular faces of 5S1 students. everyone was busy and excited about themselves and what they had to tell as well as show. Kong entrusted his handsome hairstyle, giving the girls something to talk about. Jeremiah was bickering about not wanting to become the class monitor. Shaby and Syazlin were drooling over some cute and handsome Korean guy whose name we weren't familiar with. but the most appealing, the hot pot of the century, Thian came in the class of 5S1 with an air of machoness and absolute maturity. :P

the new year meant everything must be worn new, so obviously, people, including teachers and Bonda Pengetua, wore clothes that were new and unique. the new female uniform for Form 6 earned the most unique rate. with clean white shirts fumbled together with long brown skirts designed to portray elegance and chastity. indeed, it was a dream uniform that anyone would die for.

the new year also meant that new surprises await at every corner. this was proven today when a new yet familiar face arrived at the scene. the new year boy was Mohd Raffy B. Fatly. he was once a Kidurong citizen from Form 1 to Form 3, but had to leave to Kuching before he could celebrate his 4th year as a SMK Kidurong student. wonder what brought the devil back?? although the real reason to why he left and came back were not clear, it was said that he actually had no place he could call home when he was in Kuching. he went from relative to relative to stay under a roof. it was also reported that he had no one to take care of him; absolutely a no no for a growing boy of 170+ cm. now he is back in his senior year, ready to Hulk-mode and fight anything in his road to achive those straight As.

we must not lose to him, must we now? we, as the faithful and daring souls which will keep 5S1 alive, must try our best to obtain that special star that we have been aiming for ever since we heard the phrase Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia; the straight A result. the board of directors hope everyone could cope with their studies, and wish you good luck in the New Year of 2010.
